The NIH FELCOM Mentoring Subcommittee prepared a survey
for distribution in the Spring of 2001 to a randomly selected group of
750 (out of a possible 3100) fellows. The questions of the survey cover
several categories that we think are important for a good mentoring
relationship:
- Defining mentor relations
- Scientific direction and independence
- Supervisor access and availability
- Recognition in publications and lab
- Training and career development
- Overall quality of mentoring
